Cape Town is promoting its wide range of attractions during Tourism Month.

Cape Town is in the middle of its annual Tourism Month and the local residents are embracing their roles as citizens of the Mother City.

Chief executive officer of Cape Town Tourism Mariette du Toit-Helmbold said: “In our industry it is imperative that locals have easy and affordable access to all of the Cape’s tourism experiences.”

These are numerous and varied including the spectacular trip to the top of the iconic Table Mountain, visiting Robben Island, swimming with sharks and heading out to the famous South African vineyards.

This is in addition to the delights that are on offer for those willing to head out on safari.

Ms Toit-Helmbold explained that if the locals are familiar with the attractions then they can take pride in them and promote them to overseas visitors.

“This is their month to celebrate our iconic gems and to discover the unexpected in their city by venturing beyond their own back yards,” she added.
