The Kerala government will develop more seaplane waterways.
Even though it is widely regarded as the adventure capital of India already, Kerala is about to get even more exciting.
The state government has invested Rs 12 crores (£1.3 million) to ensure that there are more waterways to allow seaplanes to take off and land.
As well as being a further memorable highlight to a holiday in India in itself, the prospect of a seaplane network opens up vast areas of the state to tourists.
Kerala has 590 km of coastline, as well as 1,895 km of inland waterways, making it the perfect place to incorporate seaplane flights.
Waterways need to be six feet deep and free from obstructions for a length of 2,500 feet and width of 200 feet.
Seaplanes will make the journey from the hill resort of Munnar to Cochi in just 30 minutes, which is a significant improvement on the current road trip that takes four hours.
