Anyone planning holidays to India may be pleased to know that Kerala has been picked as one of next year’s top ten holiday destinations.
Kerala will be one of the ten best places to visit in 2010, according to international travel company Frommer’s.
People taking holidays to India next year may be tempted to search for cheap flights to Kerala and spend some time in the coastal state during their trip.
The guide book publisher described Kerala as “a welcome respite filled with tranquil moments and some of the country’s best food”.
According to Frommer’s, the state’s capital Cochin has become “the centre for Indian culinary tourism”, with many travellers taking the opportunity to participate in a cookery course during their stay.
Other highlights in the region include its stunning white sand beaches, with the Varkala coastline receiving a special mention.
Last year, Frommer’s travel writers selected Cape Town in South Africa and Berlin in Germany among their top hotspots for the year ahead.
Other winners in the 2010 list include Melbourne in Australia and Hanoi in Vietnam.
