The weakness of sterling will not put most people off going on holidays to India, an expert has said.
The weakness of the pound will not generally dissuade holidaymakers from going overseas, according to a currency expert.
HiFX currency strategist Marc Cogliatti said that while some people might be put off, most would not be.
People wanting to go on holidays to India are unlikely to decide against it due to the state of the pound.
Mr Cogliatti pointed out the attraction of sunshine in a foreign holiday and said that people would be drawn by this.
While currency may be a consideration, he stated: “I’m not necessarily sure that it’s enough to put the vast majority of Brits off going away.”
A poll recently published by Wanderlust and AITO found that consumers are influenced by destination more than cost when they plan a foreign trip.
Most respondents (77 per cent) intend to travel as much as they did last year or more, while 72 per cent do not intend to reduce the amount of money they spend while they are away.
