Goa has some of the best rafting experiences in India.
As part of India’s adventure tourism explosion, those heading to Goa can now swap the calm coastal waters for white water rapids.
Depending on the weather, the state’s Surla-Mhadei River has some of the best rafting opportunities in the whole of the country.
“We have the greatest frequency of rapids on any river in south India,” John Pollard, head of Southern River Adventures, which provides training and equipment for tourists, told TavBizMonitor.
“On the advanced stretch we have as many as 35 rapids between class two and four, and on the easier stretch we have at least 15,” he added.
The adventure begins getting to the starting point on the river.
