Authorities in Goa have introduced “beach-bumming” experience for couples who love monsoon in India. Slashed hotel tariffs await those who plan holidays and book tickets on flights to the region.
India’s most potent tourist hub, Goa has come up with a promotional initiative to attract more number of people to get hold of tickets on flights that are headed the Goa way. The tourism authorities of India’s smallest state are now offering a “beach-bumming” experience in the rain.
This is a new off-season package introduced by the authorities in the state and specifically targets couples, tempting them to book tickets aboard flights to the premier beach destination of India. A highly subsidized 3 days / 4 nights package at hotels operated by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation is being offered under the scheme.
“The state is actively promoting its beaches to couples and families who are looking to take a break during this summer holidays,” a tourism department spokesperson was quoted in various online media sources of India.
The offer also includes sightseeing on GTDC-run coaches and a river cruise on boat Shantadurga/Santa Monica.
The effort is largely seen as an attempt to promote the place as a year-round destination and to entice people to book tickets for flights even in the traditional off-season. The state is mostly seen as a winter tourism haven, with millions booking airline tickets and boarding flights to travel to the destination during the months of October to March.
Goa is indeed one of India’s top tourist destinations. While plenty of locals book cheap airline tickets to travel to the region, the number of foreigners boarding flights runs in millions as well.
