People taking cheap holidays in Dubai could find getting around easier with an extra fleet of cabs that are to be unleashed across the region to coincide with the opening of its new metro.

The transport system of Dubai has undergone a radical transformation this month with the opening of a brand new metro line, which is also encouraging further positive developments, it has been reported.

A fleet of 300 taxis is to be dedicated to the stops along the Dubai metro, it has been revealed, in order to cater for the barrage of commuters and holidaymakers set to make use of the new system.

Due to the increased services from the Dubai Taxi Corporation, those on cheap holidays in Dubai will be able to enjoy better transport links at metro stations.

Furthermore, drivers have received training in order to fully acquaint them with the new stations and their proximities, meaning that holidaymakers could access popular sights such as SplashLand, the Dubai Museum and Sheikh Saeed Al-Maktoum’s House with greater ease.

Among those booking cheap flights to Dubai this winter may be sports fans, as several events – such as the Dubai Sevens rugby tournament and the final of the World Powerboat Championship – are set to take place in December.
