Jewellery-lovers may wish to combine their passion for bling with holidays to Dubai later this year.

The city is to play host to the Dubai International Jewellery Week (DIJW) in November, showcasing the best in new designs and featuring a vast array of high-end timepieces, Dubai City Guide reports.

Trixee Loh, senior vice-president of exhibitions and events at Dubai World Trade Centre, said the city’s image as a luxury resort makes it the ideal place to hold such an event.

“[Dubai] has always possessed a population that has a thorough understanding of quality jewellery and timepieces.

“This … makes the region a perfect market for high-end jewellery and timepieces, making DIJW the ideal place to get a first-hand feel of the best in the business,” she commented.

DIJW will be held from November 11th to 15th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Dubai is known as both the City of Gold and the Las Vegas of the Middle East, thanks to its propensity for luxury.

David Beckham owns a property there, while Coleen McLoughlin and Frank Lampard have also been pictured on holidays in Dubai.
