Art Gallery of New South Wales will host Francis Bacon: Five Decades from November 17th to February 24th.
People booking flights to Sydney in the next few months in search of some winter sun will also have the opportunity to see a new exhibition that showcases the works of one of the world’s finest painters.
Francis Bacon: Five Decades will be held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales from November 17th to February 24th.
The collection really portrays Bacon’s fight to project the struggles of the human condition into his art.
It will be the first exhibition of the post-war master in Australia and will feature over 50 paintings, with many of them being stunning in size and scope.
Organisers have been working for three years to create Five Decades, acquiring paintings from the likes of Tate London, Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
It will be open to the public from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm daily and is part of the Sydney International Art Series, which aims to bring the world’s most outstanding exhibitions to Australia.
