British people have been urged to take holidays to Australia if they want to see City Beach in its real location.

Tourism Western Australia offered this advice after the beach, known for being one of the best in Perth thanks to its pristine white sand and good conditions for surfing, was used in an advertisement to promote the Spanish Costa Brava.

Christie Lord, marketing manager for the organisation, said that people should choose holidays to Australia in order to avoid being disappointed by not seeing City Beach in all its glory.

“We invite anyone who was inspired by the image to come to Western Australia to experience the real thing for themselves,” she commented.

City Beach is situated about 15 minutes away from Perth by car and is popular with Australians who live in the nearby inner cities, according to MyTravelGuide.com.

Visitors who are feeling energetic can follow a coastal walk and cycle route from the beach to Hillary’s Boat Harbour further north.
