A month-long party with a difference is to be held at a resort in Queensland, Australia, it has emerged.
The White Cockatoo resort, owned by Tony Fox, is to host the gathering in the rainforest – the difference being that its guests need not wear clothes.
Mr Fox said the party is an attempt to remind tourists that holidays to Australia are great fun and to give people chance to get close to nature in a fairy-like atmosphere.
“Tough economic times call for stiff measures,” he said.
Commenting on the party, local regional Mayor Val Schier remarked: “People in tropical north Queensland are extraordinarily creative.”
Earlier this month, Cairns state tourism manager Desley Boyle said that rather than putting tourists off visiting Australia, crocodiles are likely to be seen as an attraction.
She pointed out that the last time one was spotted near to Cairns Esplanade, visitors flocked there to take pictures.
