Anyone looking for a relaxing holiday to Australia could find that Hamilton Island fits the bill perfectly.
A number of new attractions are to open there during 2009, including a yacht club and a golf course that will offer excellent views across the sea and the other Whitsunday Islands.
The golf course will have 18 holes across 6,083 metres, while the yacht club will allow members of the public to visit and see the relaxing marina.
Hamilton Island chief executive Glenn Bourke said: “Whether it’s for recreation, socialising, relaxing or executive business, the Hamilton Island Yacht Club is destined to become a signature Australian location.”
Mr Bourke added that the island will also be an excellent stop-off point for those visiting the Great Barrier Reef.
Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island among the Whitsundays and is located just off the coast of Queensland. It can be reached by boat, ferry or small plane.
