Gold Coast Tourism has launched a new marketing campaign to promote the Australian region. The new branding of Gold Coast, Famous for Fun, could increase the number of people taking flights to Australia as well as improving the overall impression of the destination, reports e-Travel Blackboard.

“The Famous for Fun brand focuses on the things people know and love about a Gold Coast holiday. It is about enjoying the moment, escaping the daily grind and connecting with friends and family,” said the chief executive officer of Gold Coast, Martin Winter.

Gold Coast Tourism’s previous campaign was designed by M&C Saatchi and focused on promoting the luxury options in the area. However, this latest strategy will focus on the more traditional attractions such as beaches, theme parks and entertainment.

It is estimated that 10.5 million people visit the Gold Coast every year, with many coming for its famous 70km of sandy beach coastline.
