Holidays to Australia have reached new depths with new underwater experiences on offer for visitors, South Australia Tourism has announced.
People flying to Australia for a break this summer may be interested in a new two-day shark diving excursion being run off the coast of Port Lincoln.
The site is one of the rare destinations where great white sharks can be found all year round and even beginner divers are invited into the cage, it said.
For those looking for a friendlier diving companion, travellers can also choose to swim with sea lions and tuna fish.
The sea lion experience takes place closer to the shores in shallower waters and swimmers can also enter a pen of fish for an “exciting experience as the fast, energetic tuna can swim excitedly close”.
Port Lincoln is known as the “seafood capital of Australia” and is situated around 652 kilometres west of Adelaide in the south of the country.
