Britons are being urged to leave the workplace and make the most of their holiday allowance as figures reveal people are nervous of taking time off during the recession, it has been reported.
“Holidays are a good way of allowing employees to recharge their batteries and return to work feeling refreshed,” explained Gill Trevelyan, head of good practice services at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (Acas).
She went on to say that using up annual leave allowance will keep workers well-motivated and healthy and maintain a good work-life balance.
Ms Trevelyan added that by law, full-time employees are entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday per year.
By finding a good work-life balance, businesses will benefit from lower levels of absenteeism, improved staff retention and increased productivity, according to the Work Foundation.
According to the Work Foundation website, there are business benefits to a work-life balance.
Employees flying to Dubai for a holiday may wish to relax and rewind at the Dubai Dance Festival held at the Centrepoint Theatre from June 10th to 13th.
