According to the brains behind the Zero Baggage idea Catharine MacIntosh, people would be able to save time and money by not having to wait in queues for their luggage at the airport.
“When you think about removing almost half the weight from a plane when you get rid of passenger luggage, it’s quite a sustainable action in terms of energy,” she added.
She hoped it would also appeal to the backpacking genre of people taking a holiday in Australia.
