Australia is growing as a popular holiday spot for Chinese travellers, with more than half of tourists from the country surveyed saying they want to head down under in the next few years.
Commenting on the figures, Tourism Australia managing director Andrew McEvoy said: “Australia has been at the forefront in destination marketing since becoming the first Western destination to receive approval to host group leisure travellers from China.”
He said that over the coming year, the group is to “double” its efforts and work alongside airline partners to make sure that the market continues to grow.
BBC reporter Caroline Frost recently praised Australia as a great place for expats to live, noting that Brisbane is becoming increasingly popular with Brits moving abroad.
