Tourist visa applications for holidays in Thailand will continue to be fee-free until March 4th 2010, it has been reported.

Anyone catching a flight to Bangkok or any of the other international airports in the country will be eligible for the exemption.

It can also be granted at Thai embassies and consulates abroad for those wishing to stay for a longer period than normally allowed.

With people being more cautious about their spending on travel this year, the continued waiver on holiday visas for Thailand is another reason to pay a visit to the country.

Last year, 14.59 million tourists visited Thailand on holiday and 4.7 million people took a holiday in the country between January and April of this year.

Visitors to Thailand between July 30th and August 3rd may wish to head to Hua Hin to watch the Royal Vega Rudder of His Majesty the King sailing trophy event.

Held in honour of the king, the regatta will take place in Hua Hin which, according to WhatsOnWhen, is the “home of sailing”.
