People planning holidays to Thailand may be pleased to know that the country has been described as offering great value for money.
Anyone booking flights to Thailand could be interested to hear that the destination is considered “great value for money” by a travel expert.
Thailand has effectively promoted itself as a cheap tourism destination, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT).
According to the marketing advisor at TAT Chris Lee, pushing the country as value for money is important at a time when people are struggling to find spare cash.
“All customers to all destinations are becoming value conscious,” he said.
Mr Lee pointed out that, in the eurozone, UK travellers are getting approximately 40 per cent less for their money, making it “a tough time for outbound tourism”.
Earlier this year, American Express Global Foreign Exchange services reported that there has been an increase in UK demand for currencies to long-haul destinations, including Thailand and Mexico.
The organisation stated that this was in line with trends noticed in the second quarter of 2009 that saw holidaymakers prepared to travel to long-haul destinations to get value for money.
