Anyone booking flights to Thailand with Thai Airways may find themselves part of the company’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
People who are looking for flights to Thailand may want to see what Thai Airways has to offer during May.
This is because the carrier is celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be hosting a number of special events and flights to mark the occasion.
One of these is a so-called “retro flight” from Bangkok to Hong Kong, retracing the route that the first Thai Airways plane followed on its maiden trip.
In order to give the journey an authentic feel, cabin crew will wear uniforms from the 1960s and the aircraft will be painted in retro colours.
The carrier has also revealed that it is arranging a number of “special activities” for passengers flying with the airline during May, as well as offering cheap flights as part of the celebrations.
Earlier this year, Thai Airways picked up the prize for best intercontinental airline at the Norwegian Grand Travel Awards 2010.
