A new airport link in Thailand is to start commercial operations officially on August 30th.The rail link will connect the city of Bangkok with the Suvarnabhumi International airport and will be ideal for those planning cheap flights to Thailand.

Thailand’s state railway has been operating the link on a free trial basis since the beginning of June and the transport has proved itself capable of carrying around 17,000 passengers per day.

Services will depart every 15 minutes from Phaya Thai and take 30 minutes to reach the airport, while there is also an express train from Makkasen every half-an-hour. It is hoped that luggage check-in facilities will be available at the stations before the end of the year.

Each link station has at least two automatic token machines, with instructions in English so travellers arriving on cheap flights to Thailand will be able to head to their Bangkok accommodation easily.
