Keen marathon runners can choose from two long-distance races in Thailand next month.
June is marathon month in Thailand, with two endurance races taking place in the south east Asian country within a week of each other.
Long-distance runners looking for a challenge are encouraged to book flights to Thailand for the Nong Khai Charity Marathon, which is due to take place on June 5th.
Due to the high temperatures, you’ll have to be up early for a 5.30am start for the full marathon, while half marathons and mini marathons are also being hosted on the day.
Registration costs just £15 and the route takes in the Naga Fountain Yard, as well as the Mekong River, in the Nong Khai region near the Laotian border.
Alternatively, if you want to race on the holiday island of Phuket, then June 12th is the date to put in your diary.
The Laguna Phuket International Marathon features shady rubber plantations and sandy bays, while runners are invited to stock up on carbs at the pre-race pasta party.
Registration for this beach-side marathon is open from June 10th at Phuket Laguna and prices start at 3,400 baht (£70) for the full 40km race.
