Anyone booking holidays to South Africa may be interested in a new series about the best walks in the country.

People who have booked flights to South Africa with the intention of exploring some of its natural beauty may be interested in a new TV show set to hit screens next week.

Julia Bradbury, the new president of The Ramblers, will present the programme, which begins on BBC4 on April 26th.

She will take viewers through four of South Africa’s best walks, with the aim of providing information about some of the regions that are slightly off the country’s usual tourist trail.

The first programme will focus on the Garden Route, which runs along South Africa’s southern coast, with other locations including Kruger National Park, Drakensberg and the Kalahari also being explored.

Described as “one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline” by SA-Venues.com, the Garden Route runs for some 200km, taking in towns such as George and Plettenberg Bay before ending in the Tstisikamma Forest, which boasts a wide range of hiking trails.
