In news which may be of interest to people considering flights to India for a gap year, a map provider has announced a new product that could help travellers orientate themselves.
Mapsinternational.co.uk carried out a survey and discovered that 96 per cent of people between 18 and 35 have thought about taking a year out, while 88 per cent said they know someone who has or is about to.
Consequently, it has launched travel packs for India, Australia and south-east Asia, each containing a wall map, a travel guide book and a language kit.
David Stephens, managing director of the company, said: “We understand that increasing numbers of people are wishing to travel and see as much of the world as possible.
“This includes not only students, but also adults taking a year out of work to see parts of the world that they might never think of visiting on a week’s holiday.”
Recent research from the Year Out Group found that Thailand, Kenya, South Africa and Australia are all among the top gap year destinations.
