More and more people are booking flights to Goa in search of some winter sun, one Indian travel expert has stated.
An increasing number of Brits are booking flights to Goa during the colder months of the year to find some winter sunshine, one tourism expert in India has claimed.
Commenting that Goa is “a hugely popular winter sun destination”, Louise Newton, PR and marketing manager of Somak Holidays, went on to explain the Indian resort’s attractions.
She noted that the beachside location “offers incredible value” when compared with other destinations around the world, such as the Caribbean or Indian Ocean islands.
Ms Newton also pointed out that many people book flights to Goa the following year for another visit.
“Customers return year after year, often choosing exactly the same hotel,” she explained.
Kumari Selja, Indian tourism minister, recently commented that there is a great deal of “hidden potential” for further development within the Indian travel industry.
She noted that continuing to come up with new products – such as eco tourism, cruise and adventure travel initiatives – is vital to enhance India’s image among holidaymakers.
