Air France-KLM could soon be putting in an order for a number of medium-sized planes, it has been revealed.

Air France-KLM could be in a position to put in a large order for Boeing or Airbus aircraft, according to the firm’s chief executive officer Pierre Henri Gourgeon.Mr Gourgeon said that the carrier could place “a very big order” which could help cover the needs of the company for a number of years, reported news agency Reuters.

His comment was in response to a query from reporters at a press conference held in Italy who asked about Air France-KLM plans to purchase some 100 planes of a medium size.

“What we say to the aircraft manufacturers is, let’s go through a tender and do your best to address our needs over many years and then we will make a choice,” he said.

Air France flies to more than 900 destinations worldwide and could be a good port of call for those searching for cheap flights to India or cheap flights to Australia.
