A new waterpark resort hotel is to open in Egypt.

Families holidaying in Egypt may find that their kids are thrilled to land in the north African destination, after a leading travel company has announced plans to expand its waterpark resorts.

Thomas Cook has revealed that Egypt will see six new themed Aquamania Resorts open, which could persuade water-loving holidaymakers to book flights to Cairo.

Featuring adventure slides, a blue lagoon pool and swimming areas designated especially for kids, heading to a waterpark such as an Aquamania Resort could prove to be a welcome addition for families holidaying in Egypt.

Richard Calvert, joint managing director of Thomas Cook UK and Ireland mainstream travel, said: “With the popularity of north Africa at an all time high, it’s the ideal time to expand our programme.”

Directline Holidays recently reported that bookings for all-inclusive holidays to the popular Egyptian destination of Sharm el Sheikh have grown by 94 per cent between November and March, in comparison with the same period a year ago.
