British tourists are increasingly heading to more exotic destinations such as Egypt for their holidays, new research has found.
Travellers from the UK are increasingly likely to book flights to Egypt rather than heading to a traditionally popular destination such as Spain, new research has found.
According to sunshine.co.uk, Brits are turning their backs on Spain because it “is not foreign enough”.
However, it would seem that more and more people are finding the allure of Egypt popular, as it was the most frequently booked destination on the website.
Also included in the top five were Greece, the USA, Turkey and Portugal.
The company had some interesting responses when it asked why people would avoid visiting a certain country, including one person who stated that they would not travel to the Canary Islands because they are scared of birds.
Anyone who does book flights to Egypt will find lots of activities to occupy their holiday, from sightseeing tours around some of the country’s historic landmarks -such as the Pyramids and the Sphinx – to scuba diving in the Red Sea.
