Emirates airline of Dubai has bagged the World’s Best Airline award at the 2013 annual Skytrax World Airline Awards. The Skytrax accolades are the most prestigious awards in the airline industry, and are a global benchmark for air service excellence.
Dubai based Emirates Airline has been voted as the world’s best at the annual Skytrax World Airline Awards, during the Paris Air Show on Tuesday, June 18. The carrier also picked up two more accolades – the best airline in the Middle East, and the world’s best in-flight entertainment. The news was hailed by the Emirates flights passengers who consistently book tickets with the carrier.
Qatar Airways, last year’s number one, fell to the second place, while the Singapore Airlines remained at the third position for the second consecutive year. Cathay Pacific’s cabin crew was awarded the first rank, and Air Asia got named as the top low-cost carrier. The awards were based on the opinion from over 18 million business and leisure fliers from 160 countries across the globe who polled for everything from cleanliness of the cabin to the quality of the in-flight food and entertainment.

The Skytrax award ceremony is conducted every year since 1999, and is considered to be one of the most prestigious accolades in the air service industry, and among passengers around the globe reserving tickets on the flights.
