Festivities at the airport will greet travellers booking flights to Dubai this week.
Dubai International Emirates terminal three is celebrating its first birthday this week and Emirates is celebrating in style.
Giveaways and contests as well as special discount offers from Dubai duty free will be on offer to passengers passing through the terminal this week.
The terminal officially opened for business on October 14th 2008. The celebrations to mark its first anniversary will last for three days.
Since opening last year, the terminal has seen over 16.1 million passengers come through its doors and has been responsible for more than 96,000 flight departures.
Emirates Airline has exclusive use of the terminal, which is the largest in the world and also plays host to the globe’s largest single duty free operation.
Mohammed Mattar, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of airport services, said: “We are proud to contribute to the ongoing success of Emirates terminal three which is not only our home and hub, but also a testament to Dubai’s progressive approach to development and hospitality.”
Tourists are often attracted to Dubai for its shopping facilities, luxury hotels and leisure activities ranging from golf to waterskiing.
