Qantas has picked up several awards for the wine selection on its flights.
People booking flights to Australia may be pleased to hear that QantasĀ has received a number of awards for the wines it offers.
The Australian carrier picked up the best first class cellar gong at the Business Traveller 2009 Cellars in the Sky Awards.
In addition to this accolade, it also walked away with the honours of best first class red, best first class fortified and sweet and best presented wine list.
Lesley Grant, Qantas group executive of customer and marketing, commented: “Over the years, Qantas has built up one of Australia’s most enviable cellars, enabling it to choose from a range of premium wines.”
Judges for the awards take part in blind tasting sessions to determine the winners at the ceremony, which has been held for the past 20 years.
Other airlines to walk away with prizes include Lufthansa, Delta and Qatar Airways – which picked up the accolade of the best consistency of wines across business and first class.
