Melbourne will soon have some brand new trams travelling along its streets.
People taking cheap flights to Melbourne will soon have the benefit of using new public transport systems in the country, following the news that it is to get updated trams.
While there have been trams travelling the city’s streets for many years, the country’s transport minister Terry Mulder has revealed that there will be a fleet of 50 new trams in operation from late next year, the Age reported
Each of the trams will be 33-metres long and have a specific door for the driver, as well as five passenger doors placed on each side of the vehicle.
Although the trams are capable of reaching a high speed of 80 km/h, it is unlikely that they will travel at such a rate, as the average speed for the vehicles at present is 16 km/h.
More people on cheap flights to Melbourne could be thinking of going for a bike ride once they have arrived in the city, as native Cadel Evans recently made history as the first Australian to win the Tour de France.
