Airline Virgin Atlantic has won an award for its business class lounge, it has been announced.

The flagship Clubhouse at Heathrow airport won the SkyTrax World Airline Award for best business class lounge, thanks to its cosy feel and wide range of amenities.

Passengers can get a haircut at Bumble and Bumble, relax in the spa or pool, watch a film in the cinema or enjoy a cocktail in the bar.

Steve Ridgway, chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, said he was pleased with the accolade.

“We’re thrilled that our Heathrow Clubhouse has been chosen as the world’s best haven for business travellers. This confirms that our Clubhouse is a real winner with our passengers and with our new private security corridor they can now get through to it in record time! Thank you to everyone who voted for us,” he remarked.

It is the second time that Virgin has won the award, beating off competition from British Airways and Qatar to do so.
