A new study has revealed that people would rather give up some of life’s luxuries than sacrifice their annual holiday.

A new study has revealed that people would rather give up some of life’s luxuries than sacrifice their annual holiday.

According to the research, a quarter of respondents said they are looking at their budget to see what they can do without, with many sacrificing nights out and takeaways in a bid to ensure they can afford a holiday.

Meanwhile, 44 per cent said they would forego things like extra legroom on aircraft and convenient flight times if it meant saving money.

John Bevan, managing director of lastminute.com, which commissioned the research, told TravelMole that this proves our holidays are more important than ever.

“At the heart of it, booking holidays is still the main way Britons brighten up their lives and give themselves something to look forward to,” he remarked.

In August, the Association of Independent Tour Operators found that more people are booking holidays in advance in order to save money.

Anyone looking for a well-priced destination may wish to book holidays to South Africa, which was found to be among the world’s best-value travel destinations in a survey by the Post Office.
