With many Britons no doubt dreading their packing as the holiday season approaches, representatives from airline Virgin Atlantic have stepped in to offer some handy hints for stressed-out travellers.

The company asked its cabin crew for the most recommended items they themselves carry onto the aircraft in a bid to help people who may be indecisive as to what to take.

Items most members of staff used were found to be face wipes, moisturiser for the face and lip balm for the lips to stay help them stay hydrated whilst onboard.

Anyone intending to hit the shops at their final destination may wish to heed the advice of Victoria Lewis, cabin service supervisor from London, who said: “If traveling to somewhere that is great for shopping, always pack an extra bag, flat packed so that you can use this to fill with any new purchases.”

Angela Greener, flight service manager from Brighton, added that holidaymakers could avoid excess baggage charges by writing a packing list and sticking to it religiously.

Those looking for flights to Sydney this year may be interested to know that this is one of Virgin Atlantic’s most popular destinations.
