New Zealand’s annual comedy festival is set to begin later this month.

The New Zealand International Comedy Festival is set to begin in the country later this month and will see some of the biggest names from stand up taking to the stage.

Opening on April 27th, the festival will run through to May 20th and will boast dozens of different acts across venues around the country.

Both Auckland and Wellington are the main hosts of the festival, but a number of smaller events are also poised to take place in a number of locations.

As well as having the chance to see comics including the likes of Ben Hurley, Guy Capper and Barry Morgan taking part in the showcase, there will also be a number of comedy events held.

These include the Comedy Lab, which will see comedians discussing how they create their jokes and what makes them funny.

The start of the event is also a great excuse to get out and try some of the amazing restaurants and bars that are found across the host cities, as many are holding special offers and dining events to help the audience make the most of their evening out.
