The International Book Fair has opened its doors in Abu Dhabi with 500,000 new books on display.

The latest instalment of the International Book Fair (ADIBF) has opened its doors in Abu Dhabi with a staggering 500,000 new books on show.

Now in its 22nd year, the expo started on Wednesday March 28th and will run for six days at the emirate’s National Exhibition Centre.

In total, more than 900 exhibitors have travelled from 54 countries in order to showcase their latest titles to an audience of book fans and buyers.

A number of events will be taking place alongside the event, including workshops, discussion and activities for children.

Among the many authors speaking at the event is acclaimed poets and writers Ibrahim Nasrallah and Tishani Doshi.

Jumaa Abdulla Al Qubaisi, director of ADIBF, said the fair “offers a range of new initiatives to bring authors and readers together, such as autograph sessions and the Creativity Corner where families can receive tips from authors.”
