People in the UK are getting more adventurous when it comes to choosing their holiday destinations, one expert has said.

According to Rob Yandell, managing editor and publisher of Group Leisure magazine, while travellers are still looking for a bargain, they also want destinations that are different from the usual tourist hotspots.

“The world is a smaller place and the options are vast. People are just looking for more adventure and quality at a very reasonable price,” he commented.

Recent research from Cater Allen found that 69 per cent of Britons admitted to not liking crowds of tourists and 51 per cent prefer unspoilt destinations over traditional tourist destinations.

For anyone looking for a more adventurous break, Globo Sapiens recommends holidays to Australia for a road trip, attesting that the variable climate offers opportunities for travelling all year around.

However, it adds that a four-wheel drive is essential for exploring off the beaten track.
