Abu Dhabi has announced plans to boost its tourism sector by promoting its golf courses.

Golf enthusiasts could be planning to take flights to Abu Dhabi soon as the region promotes itself as being a great location for fans of the sport.

The Golf in Abu Dhabi initiative has been created by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority to showcase the great range of places to play golf, as well as the other fantastic facilities which are available.

While the region boasts three large golf courses within a 25-mile radius of each other, there are other places to tee off across the emirate.

“Additional options include an idyllic 18-hole country course at Al Ain Equestrian, a floodlit, nine-hole urban course at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club; and a unique 18-hole sand course at Al Ghazal Golf Club,” the authority noted.

Some people who took flights to Abu Dhabi last week would have been able to see a stunning light show at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque as part of the National Day celebrations.
