Flight of the Conchords have announced they are to do a homecoming tour of New Zealand.

Fans of Flight of the Conchords will have chance to see the duo performing live on their home turf as they have announced they are to tour New Zealand.

Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement are originally from Wellington and will be playing two nights at the city’s Michael Fowler Centre on June 19th and 20th.

They are also set to perform in locations including Auckland and Queenstown during the tour.

“I can’t wait to perform where people can understand our accents,” McKenzie said as he announced the tour.

Clement added that the pair were looking forward to setting out to tour their own country, as it was more convenient than having to travel overseas to perform.

Since first finding fame with a hit radio show before making a programme in New York based on their attempts to become musicians, McKenzie has gone on to win an Oscar for best original track for the song Man or a Muppet.
