An international conference on the aerospace industry has opened in Abu Dhabi.

An international conference on the aerospace industry has opened in Abu Dhabi, with delegates visiting from around the world to discuss the latest innovations in the sector.

The two-day Global Aerospace Summit began in the emirate today (April 16th) and will see 700 representatives from the aviation and space sectors meet.

A number of defined events and talks have been scheduled across the summit, with a series of networking breaks planned to allow companies to discuss ideas and form new partnerships.

Sultan Saeed Al Mansoori, minister of economy in the United Arab Emirates, opened the event and said it presented “an opportunity to demonstrate the country’s progress and ambition in the aerospace, aviation and space sectors”.

Abu Dhabi regularly hosts a number of conferences which see some of the key players from a number of sectors spending time in the state.

Upcoming events include Menasol 2012 and the Middle East Conference & Health IT Leadership Summit, which are both taking place in May.
