After years of living under the shadow of its more popular Emirati neighbour – Dubai -Abu Dhabi has finally come of its own. The city always boasted fabulous architecture, prominent through its mosques as well as ancient palaces and their ruins, but it has reinvented itself by making way for grand malls, top-of-the-luxury hotels and resorts as well as world-class adventure parks. Another factor positioning Abu Dhabi uniquely in the mind of travellers to the UAE is city’s latest fascination with luxury and sports cars, which also brought the cast and crew of the Fast and Furious 7 to Abu Dhabi in 2015.

If you are visiting Abu Dhabi soon, among other attractions, be sure to visit these five locations in Abu Dhabi covered by the cast and crew of the movie. Some of these can also be seen in the movie. Here goes:

The Emirates Palace

Consistently ranking at top among the best luxury hotels in the world, the Emirates Palace is to Abu Dhabi what Burj Al Arab is to Dubai. A 7-star luxury hotel operated by Kempinski, the Emirates Palace can be visited even by non-guests among the travellers as it is promoted as the cultural hub of the city, hosting prestigious concerts, operas and orchestras. The cast of the movie is shown staying in this luxury hotel when they visit Dubai in pursuit of the God’s Eye.

The Etihad Towers

A complex of five buildings, the Etihad Towers are known for their fabulous architecture and four of them feature in the list of top 10 tallest buildings in Abu Dhabi. The towers collectively offer some of the best dining, shopping and accommodation options in Abu Dhabi. In the movie, the character named Prince lived in one of the towers, and Dom and Brian drive through three of the towers in a death defying stunt. However, the towers shown in the film were not real and the scene was filmed at the Atlanta soundstage.

The Corniche

The Corniche, also known as the Street Number 1, is the most happening area in Abu Dhabi. Lined up with beaches, public parks, restaurants and hotels, the Corniche faces the Gulf Ocean and makes for a stunning view. Spend an evening walking here and seeing the life spring into action around its cycling paths, fountains and parks. The Corniche is visible in several scenes in the movie featuring The Emirates Palace as it is located on the Corniche.

The Desert

The Arabian Desert surrounds Abu Dhabi and a desert safari is one of the best ways to explore these vast expanses of desert. Get aboard a 4×4 and go dune bashing much in the fashion of the chase scene in the movie. Seeing the glorious sun setting behind the desert is going to be one of the most memorable experiences from your Abu Dhabi trip. Early risers can choose the morning safari whereas adventure seekers can stay overnight in a tent. The glorious deserts can also be explored through a camel ride.

Sumptuous Seafood at the Scott’s London

One of the best places in Abu Dhabi to consume fresh, high quality seafood; the Scott’s London is a high-end eatery in Jumeirah at the Etihad Towers. Believed to be the place where the team of Fast and Furious 7 dined when they were in the city, Scott’s London enjoys a huge popularity among locals and travellers alike.
