Thailand has been named as a popular holiday destination during the recent British school half-term holidays.

According to pre-paid Holiday card provider Escape Travel Money and card provider EZPay, many families opted to take flights to Thailand recently as they managed to secure reasonably priced deals.

Paul Smith, managing director of EZPay, explained that Ireland and the US also attracted strong support, with the traditional holiday hotspot of Spain coming in fourth in the research.

“Tour operators and airlines have had some great deals to the US and Thailand for the school break and this seems to have struck a chord with holidaymakers, whose bargain hunting extended to making sensible currency decisions,” said Mr Smith.

According to the official UK website for Thailand Tourism, the best time to visit Thailand is between November and March as the climate is at its most favourable.
