One travel expert has described Thailand as a great destination that has a lot to offer travellers.

Holidaymakers seeking a variety of experiences during their trips could do worse than book some flights to Thailand, it has been claimed.

John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures, described the country as “great” because there is so much to see and do there.

“Travellers can see the sights of Bangkok, visit the rainforest, travel to an island and then spend days helping rehabilitate gibbons,” he commented.

Mr Warner noted that combining sight seeing with volunteer work is an excellent way to get the most from a destination and enjoy some adventures along the way.

Another tip for those who want to cram a lot into a holiday is to take a tour and move around whatever country you visit, he added.

Research released earlier this month by intotheblue.co.uk found that 61 per cent of people it surveyed intend to travel around the world in the next decade.

Adventure activities are also high on holidaymakers’ to-do lists, with 53 per cent stating that they would like to jump out of a plane and 34 per cent claiming they would like to climb a mountain.
