Travellers in search of a luxury destination need look no further than a holiday to Bangkok and the InterContinental hotel.

Having received an 890 million Thai bart (£16.3 million) refurbishment, there are many new features that may appeal to the more discerning traveller.

“The new look and feel emerges throughout the hotel,” from the new glass covered walkway and crystal chandelier on the ground floor up to the sky-high spa with panoramic views over Bangkok and the free-form roof-top pool terrace, reported Traveldailynews.

A new wine bar has also been added offering “family-style Italian dining” to the capital.

Choc! – a new gourmet confectionary shop – will also allow guests to witness the full chocolate making process.

“InterContinental Bangkok exemplifies the kind of subtle elegance and functional luxury favoured by frequent international travellers attuned to authentic experience,” claimed the hotel.

The five-star hotel is located on Ploenchit Road, Patumwan, in the Thai capital.
