Phuket Boat Show is poised to be the biggest event in its history when it takes place at the end of the month.

The Phuket Boat Show 2012 is set to be the biggest of its kind when it takes place in the Thai city at the end of March.

Now in its ninth year, Phuket International Boat Show (Pimex) will begin at the Royal Phuket Arena on March 29th and will welcome over 50 boats from manufacturers around the world.

The number and diversity of brands is impressive, but more important is the quality of boats on display this year,” said Pimex show director Andy Dowden.

He added that the brands which regularly show their craft at Monaco, Cannes and Fort Lauderdale will be attending Pimex this year.

The largest boat on show this year will be a 92-foot powerboat, with a range of other sizes featuring down to a 20-foot vessel.

Italian company Pershing is behind the creation of the largest boat at the show, which will mark the first time that it has been put on show.
