Getting on your bike will be the order of the day for people in Phuket next month.

People who enjoy travelling on two wheels will be flocking to Phuket next month as the city is set to host its annual Bike Week.

Now in its 18th year, the event will put on display a range of motorbikes and associated accessories along Patong Beach, with more than 30,000 people expected to attend this year.

Beginning on April 6th 2012, the highlight of the event is the Motorcycle Exhibition Festival, which runs from 15:00 local time each day of the three-day programme and will showcase the best new designs from global bike manufacturers.

There are a range of other attractions hosted each day to entertain guests, including tattoo stands and fire dancing displays, as well as a tree planting ceremony to raise awareness of environmental issues.

Travellers currently in Phuket who are looking for a night out to remember are in luck, as the Absolut Mange House Festival is taking place in the city until March 9th.
