Phuket Bike Week is now underway after being delayed for several weeks.

Phuket Bike Week is now underway in the Thai city after it was postponed for several weeks.

Now in its 18th year, the festival began at the Patong Beach football field, where the Motorcycle Exhibition Festival began on April 20th 2012.

The festival will run through to April 22nd, with a range of other biking activities taking place across the occasion.

Biking enthusiasts will be taking part in a special biker games and a number of bands will also be taking part in a music contest to be crowned the best to perform at the festival.

The festival was formally opened by Phuket governor Tri Augkaradacha who is himself a fan of bikes and owns a Harley Davidson.

If bikes are not your thing, Phuket is still filled with things to.

The region is famous for its beaches, with 540 km of white shoreline running along the west coast of the island.
