A journalist who visited Thailand for a series of business meetings has said how much he enjoyed his free time in the south Asian country.

Maurice Archache, writing for the Philippine Daily Enquirer, headed to Bangkok, where he visited the famous temples, shopped until he dropped and sampled some Thai cuisine before moving onto Koh Samui Island.

Commenting on how he was struck by its beauty, he said: “The island has idyllic beaches, hills, jungle, waterfalls and picturesque rocky coves.”

While there, Mr Archache participated in a half-day elephant trek, as well as a drive through the jungle to the Namaung waterfall.

“We ended our tour with a yummy dinner while watching the sunset at a breezy beachfront restaurant,” Mr Archache concluded.

Last month, IceNews suggested that people going on holidays to Thailand should not miss a visit to the picturesque Hong Lagoon.

Situated on Hong Island in the Than Bokoranee National Park, the website states that it is one of the most striking landmarks in the region.
