Travellers who enjoy visiting spas on their annual fortnight abroad may wish to book holidays to Thailand, according to the readers of one magazine.

A survey by asiaSpa magazine and audit company Grant Thornton voted the south Asian country as the best destination for such activities in the world, Focus on Travel News reports.

This could be due to the wide variety of treatments its facilities offer, including traditional Thai massage, herbal massages and Thai healing.

“It is the element of Thainess that unites all of the kingdom’s spas while clearly delineating them from what the rest of the world has to offer,” commented Focus on Travel News.

Hundreds of tourists take spa holidays to Thailand every year in order to experience the relaxing treatments for themselves.

Celebrities are no exception – last year, Kate Moss headed there with her daughter as she took a break from assignments over Christmas.
